incompatibilities with fS.

Many use PoE(Power over Ethernet) - and there is at least 2 standards..

POE can be IEEE 802.3af (about 13W) or IEEE 802.3at(about 25W) -- some out of standard claim 50W..

Looks like most SIP phones only need the af - most use about 2-3W ( probably less these days.. )

POE giga-bit switches are not commodity cheap yet..
